Pope appeals for children’s rights

November 16, 2016

In a message for the Universal Children’s Day, which will be observed on November 20, Pope Francis has called for vigilance in protecting the young, especially against military recruiters and human traffickers.

In his statement the Pope asked for worldwide recognition “that children always be protected and their wellbeing safeguarded, so that they never fall prey to forms of slavery, recruitment for armed groups, and maltreatment.” He went on to say that governments should guarantee access to education for all children.

I hope the Pope believes that the EF children have the same rights to conscience as other Catholic children.
