Protestor enters sanctuary during US bishops’ Mass
November 15, 2016
As the US bishops celebrated Mass at St. Peter Claver Church, an African-American parish in West Baltimore, a protestor walked into the sanctuary, kissed the altar, and held up a banner that said, “Stop persecuting gays,” according to observers.
Blogger Rocco Palmo identified the protestor as Roy Bourgeois, a onetime Maryknoll priest who was excommunicated and subsequently laicized.
