Papal message to French bishops

November 08, 2016

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, has sent a message in Pope Francis’s name to the French bishops as they assembled for their fall meeting in Lourdes.

Referring to recent terrorist attacks and upcoming elections, the Pope encouraged the French bishops to “help the people of France strengthen their hope and contribute to the search for the common good.”

The message also emphasized the pastoral care of youth, evangelization, and mercy.
