November 07, 2016

As the Jubilee Year of Mercy nears its conclusion, the Vatican has announced that the Holy Doors at three major Roman basilicas will be closed on Sunday, November 13.

The Holy Door at the basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls will close at 5 pm on Sunday, with Mass and Vespers celebrated. At 5:30, the Holy Door at St. John Lateran will close. Then at 6 pm, the Holy Door at St. Mary Major will be closed, again as Mass is celebrated.

The Holy Door at St. Peter’s basilica will remain open until the next Sunday, November 20, the feast of Christ the King, when the Jubilee Year comes to an end.
