Pope confirms ill youth

September 12, 2016

On September 10, Pope Francis administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to a seriously ill oncology patient.

Giuseppe Chiolo, 16, was transported from Florence to Rome by ambulance.

The celebration of the sacrament took place before the Pope’s September 10 jubilee audience. During their meeting, the Pope gave Chiolo a Rosary.
