Leader of Milwaukee archdiocese ‘caught off guard’ by Archbishop Weakland’s homosexuality admission

Auxiliary Bishop William Callahan, who has administered the Archdiocese of Milwaukee since the transfer of Archbishop Timothy Dolan to New York, has weighed in on Archbishop Rembert Weakland’s recent discussion of his homosexuality. “I think it caught me off guard. It was not necessarily something I was ready to hear coming from the archbishop,” Bishop Callahan said.
