Papal telegram for Waldensian synod
August 22, 2016
Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, has sent a message expressing best wishes to the synod of the Waldensian-Methodist Church as it meets in Torre Pellice, Italy.
The Pope prayed for the grace to “journey with sincerity of heart towards full communion” and to “witness to Christ in an efficacious manner.”
The Pope also expressed hope that the differences between Catholics and Waldensians would not hinder joint witness in the areas of evangelization, service to migrants and the poor, and safeguarding the integrity of creation.
