New leader of Chemin Neuf community

August 19, 2016

The leadership of the Chemin Neuf community has passed from its founder to a close collaborator.

Father Laurent Fabre, a French Jesuit, founded the Catholic ecumenical community in 1973 with the approval of the Archdiocese of Lyon. The international association of the faithful, which draws on Ignatian and charismatic spiritualities, has grown to nearly 2,000 members in 26 nations.

Following the resignation of Father Fabre, 76, the community’s chapter on August 14 elected Father François Michon, 50, as its new director.
