Protect the oceans, Ecumenical Patriarch urges

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, who holds a primacy of honor in Eastern Orthodoxy, has issued a message for World Oceans Day, which took place on June 8.

“Now, more than ever, it is crucial to respect and protect this invaluable and inalienable resource of our planet, which is a unique source of nurture and biodiversity,” he said. “Our dependency on fossil fuels drives society’s indifference toward creation care.”

    Been 28 years now since Ted Danson opined we only had 10 years to save the oceans. Where he imagined we might store them I don't know, but its wonderful for the church world to pick up his fallen banner. Makes me all all misty eyed.
