Ohio bishop halts workshop by New Ways Ministry

Bishop Leonard Blair of Toledo, Ohio, has directed a local convent to cancel plans for a workshop on ministry to gay and lesbian people. The workshop was organized by New Ways Ministry, a group whose stance on homosexuality has drawn criticism from the Vatican. "The positions of New Ways Ministry are not at all in accord with the guidelines for pastoral care which the bishops of the United States issued in 2006 regarding 'Ministry to Persons with a Homosexual Inclination,'" the bishop observed.
