Dutch doctors approve euthanasia for sex-abuse victim
May 16, 2016
Doctors in the Netherlands have approved the suicide of a young woman who was diagnosed with persistent-traumatic-stress syndrome after suffering sexual abuse in childhood.
The woman-- who was not identified, but was described as in her 20s and apparently otherwise healthy-- was allowed to end her own life by a lethal injection. Her case opens a new frontier in the Netherlands, where physician-assisted suicide is legal in cases in which the victim suffers from a painful terminal illness.
