American architect designed chapel where Pope Francis celebrates morning Mass

March 16, 2016

Catholic News Service profiles the American architect who designed the chapel where Pope Francis now routinely celebrates morning Mass.

Louis Astorino, a Pittsburgh native, was originally called in to consult on the design of the Domus Sanctae Marthae, where the Pope now lives. Although ultimately another design was used, Astorino was chosen to design the chapel for the new building.
