Open borders to refugees, Pope urges European leaders
March 16, 2016
Pope Francis urged European countries to open their borders to refugees, during his regular weekly public audience on March 16.
"I like to see leaders who open their hearts and their doors," the Pope said. He urged compassion for "brothers and sisters who are living a real and tragic situation of exile, far from their homeland, with the ruins of their homes and the fear in their eyes and even, unfortunately, the pain for the loss of their loved ones."
