Orthodox patriarchs to meet to resolve jurisdictional dispute

February 25, 2016

John X, the Orthodox patriarch of Antioch, and Theophilos III, the Orthodox patriarch of Jerusalem, will meet in Cyprus in an attempt to resolve their jurisdictional dispute over the Orthodox faithful in Qatar, according to a French Orthodox site.

In 2014, the dispute led to a rupture in full Eucharistic communion between the patriarchs, and Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus has offered to help reconcile their differences before the pan-Orthodox synod takes place in June.
