Convert to Christianity released from Iranian prison
August 05, 2015
Alireza Seyyedian, an Iranian Muslim who converted to Christianity, has been released from Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
In 2012, Seyyedian, a member of the Church of Iran, was sentenced to a prison term on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “acting against national security” following the discovery of a video showing his baptism in Turkey. He also received 90 lashes as part of his sentence, according to Open Doors, which advocates on behalf of persecuted Christians.
