April 15, 2015
An iPad donated by Pope Francis has been sold at auction for $30,500, with the funds destined for a Catholic school in Uruguay.
The Pope gave the iPad to a priest in Uruguay, who in turn offered it to the school to be auctioned as a fundraiser. The Castells auction house, based in Montevideo, announced that the winning bid had been $30,500. The winner will receive the iPad and a certificate attesting to the fact that it was once owned by the Pontiff.
