Tonga's royal couple meet with Pope

Pope Francis met on February 16 with King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u Tuku’aho of Tonga.
The royal couple from Tonga was in Rome for the consistory at which Cardinal Soane Patita Paini Mafi became the first prelate from Tonga ever to enter the College of Cardinals.
During his meeting with the Pontiff, King Tupou spoke about the situation in his country, the role of the Catholic Church, and particularly the environmental concerns that face the Pacific island nation.
