Catholic Relief Services responds to allegation of support for pro-contraception program

February 10, 2015

Catholic Relief Services, the US bishops’ relief and development agency, has responded to allegations made by the Lepanto Institute that it provided support for a sex-education program that encouraged contraception and masturbation, and endorsed the work of Planned Parenthood.

“There is no evidence that the objectionable passages Lepanto Institute emphasized in the Georgetown document called My Changing Body were ever used in conjunction with CRS' activities in Rwanda,” Catholic Relief Services stated.

“Caritas Rwanda and the Georgetown University representatives in Rwanda confirmed that there were collaborative efforts among CRS, Georgetown, diocesan facilitators, and priests to adapt My Changing Body to conform to Catholic teaching,” the agency added.

FredC, I presented the documented facts of record in my initial report. You can see them all here: http://bit.ly/1AgcMiE I wish to point out that CRS' response provides absolutely NO documented evidence other than their own say-so. It should also be noted that CRS' response leaves more questions than answers. This is my analysis of CRS' response and the questions they need to not only address, but provide a fully-documented and detailed answers to each http://bit.ly/1968dM7

I cannot thank you enough for including this response to the allegations by the Lepanto Institute so that your readers (like myself) are able to sort out the issue fairly.

The Lepanto Institute has the moral obligation to produce the evidence that it used to make its claim.
