Italian Catholic charity sponsors recipe contest for inexpensive family meal

February 06, 2015

Caritas, the Catholic charitable organization, has launched a contest in Italy for the best recipe that will provide a dinner for four people at a cost under €3 ($3.40).

In preparation for the Milan Expo 2015, which is being billed as “the largest event ever organized on food and nutrition,” the Milan office of Caritas has opened the recipe contest. Entries—complete with lists of ingredients and their prices—will be posted on a Facebook page, and viewers will vote for the winning recipe.
