Nigeria: churches in ruins, nearly 100,000 Catholics leave homes as Boko Haram advances

September 08, 2014

As the Islamist militant organization Boko Haram gains ground in northeastern Nigeria, over 90,000 Catholics have fled their homes, Bishop Oliver Doeme of Maidiguri told the Fides news agency.

“Boko Haram is determined to eliminate every sign of Christian presence, and many churches have been destroyed or torched,” added Father Patrick Tor Alumuku, spokesman for the Archdiocese of Abuja.

Obama assures us that Islam is not our enemy; it's always these "extremists" in Boko Haram, Hamas, Hezbollah, Taliban, IS, Black September, al-Qaeda, Abu Nidal, Al-Nusra, Al-Shabaab, Ansar Al-Sharia, Muslim Brotherhood, PLO, PFLO, Jemaah Islamiyah..... Wait a minute! What do absolutely all these "extremists" along with dozens more not named here, what do they ALL have in common? I'll only give one small hint: They will get very angry and bothered if you draw a picture of Mohammed and publish it.
