Italian abortion rate down 55% over past 30 years

Italy’s abortion rate is falling, and the number of Italian doctors who refuse to perform abortions is rising, official statistics show.
The Italian health ministry found that the number of abortions dropped by 4.9% between 2011 and 2012, and by 55% since 1982. Over the same 30-year period, the number of doctors who refuse to do abortions rose by over 17%.
