Pope appoints successor in Buenos Aires archdiocese

Pope Francis has appointed his successor as Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Bishop Mario Aurelio Poli, who had been serving as Bishop of Santa Rosa, was named to succeed the Pope in the Argentine archdiocese. He had been an auxiliary bishop in Buenos Aires from 2002 to 2008, serving under the future Pontiff.
