Rome's public-transit lines salute Pope Francis, noted bus rider

March 27, 2013

Taking advantage of the new Pope’s reputation as a regular patron of city buses in Buenos Aires, the city busy system of Rome, ATAC, has printed up tickets featuring an image of Pope Francis.

“ATAC pays homage to the new pope who appreciates public transport,” read the tickets, which went on sale March 27. The 1 million tickets are intended largely as souvenirs, but will be valid on Rome’s bus and subway lines for a limited period.
