Catholic Recipe: Silvesterpunsch (Warm New Year's Eve Punch)

- 2 quarts water
- rind of 4 lemons
- rind of 4 oranges
- 15 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cups sugar
- juice of 8 oranges
- juice of 8 lemons
- 2 quarts soda
- 3 quarts claret wine
- 1 bottle port wine
- 1 bottle rum

DIRECTIONS
Put water, lemon and orange rind, spices and sugar in deep saucepot. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; simmer 30 minutes; strain. Pour into heat-proof punch bowl.
