Description:

The temptation to sentimentalize St. Therese has affected even the several litanies in her honor; this one has used what seems to be the best of these, from a Paulist booklet approved by Cardinal Hayes in 1925, but has also inserted a few invocations from a litany in a booklet issued by the Benedictines of Perpetual Adoration and approved by Bishop Le Blond of St. Joseph. The concluding prayer is the Collect from the Mass of October 3, as in the St. Andrew Daily Missal.

V. Pray for us, Saint Therese of the Child Jesus: R. That we may learn to follow in thy little way.

Let us pray. O Lord, Who hast said: Unless ye become as little children ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven: grant us, we beseech Thee, so to follow in humility and simplicity of heart, the footsteps of the blessed virgin Teresa, that we may obtain everlasting rewards. Who livest and reignest, with the Father and the Holy Ghost ever God, world without end. R. Amen.
