MOTTO

A short phrase, word, or sentence that expresses a principle, goal, or ideal of some person, cause, or institution. In this sense mottoes are an integral part of Catholic history and still serve to identify and motivate the faithful, especially in their corporate enterprises. thus "God wills it" was the motto of the Crusaders, "Pray and labor" of St. Benedict, "For the greater of glory of God" of St. Ignatius, and "To restore all things in Christ' the motto of Pope Pius X.
