LATIN CROSS

They symbol referred to as the Cross of the West. It is the crucifixion Cross with the extended lower part of the perpendicular upright, similar to the Cross in pictures on which Christ died. It is the universal symbol of self-denial as expressed by Christ, "If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself, take up his cross and follow me" (Mark 8:34).
