 An Australian scholar, citing the apocryphal Armenian Gospel of the Infancy, suggests that the young Jesus and his friends probably played an early version of cricket.

Ridiculous. We all know it was a rudimentary form of baseball, not cricket.

And anyway, is this supposed to be a new discovery? How many times, as a child, were you reminded how St. John's Gospel begins: "In the big inning, …"
