Kathy Sullivan Vandenberg, who thinks she's a priest, also thinks she's an expert in ecclesiology. Threatened with excommunication by Archbishop Timothy Dolan, she explains matters to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

Of official efforts to sever her ties to the church. Vandenberg said: "Excommunication is simply a punishment. That doesn't mean I'm excluded from the church. Only I can exclude myself."

Aha! Thanks for clearing that up, Kathy. (Hmmm. ex/communicare I wonder if they teach Latin, too, at the Womenpriest seminary.)

Did I ever mention that I'm the shortstop for the Phillies? Some narrow-minded, judgmental, patriarchal bigot turned me away from the players' entrance last night. But that doesn't matter. I'm still the shortstop and I'll be the shortstop for as long as I want to be.
