Wait a minute! That's Catholic doctrine you're preaching!
Who would have thought that a cardinal proclaiming the Church's teachings on the family at a Catholic university's commencement would be controversial?
Ed Ingebretsen, a professor of English at Georgetown and a priest in the American Catholic Church, said Wednesday that Arinze's remarks are in line with Roman Catholic doctrine, but nonetheless seemed out of place at the commencement ceremony.
"These things are exactly what he's paid to say," Ingebretsen said. "(But) it's a graduation; why he decided to do the pro-family thing no one seems to know."
By the way, the "American Catholic Church" is evidently a schismatic group. We're a long way from the Counter-reformation when a heretic (to use the un-PC term) is welcomed as a professor at a Jesuit university.
