Action Alert!

still waiting...

By Phil Lawler ( bio - articles - email ) | Apr 13, 2006

Night has fallen in Rome, with no announcement of a papal directive regarding the Latin Mass. That fact is causing some consternation among those who were sure the Pope would release his statement on Holy Thursday.

CWN was never sold on that prediction. When you're trying to read tea-leaves, you can't expect a high degree of accuracy. As I said in an earlier note:

When will this document appear: on Holy Thursday? Easter Sunday? the anniversary of the Pope's election (April 19)? I don't know. Anyone who does know isn't telling.

It didn't happen today; that doesn't mean it won't happen.

We're still waiting.
