Speaking about art and God in L.A.

By Thomas V. Mirus ( bio - articles - email ) | May 09, 2026

For anyone in the Los Angeles area: I am honored to be giving the keynote address at the first annual conference of the Thomistic Artists Guild, on May 30 at the parish of St. Vitus in Northridge. I will speak about the role of God in artistic inspiration, and the practical implications of this recognition for artists.

The conference is free to attend. You can register and see the schedule here. Other events of the day include an art competition, a poetry competition, and talks by a painter and an architect (as well a High Mass in the Dominican Rite—a delight, if you’ve never experienced it!).

If you attend, please come say hello to me—I’d love to meet some of our readers!

Thomas V. Mirus is President of Trinity Communications and Editor-in-Chief for CatholicCulture.org, hosts both the Catholic Culture Podcast and Lives of the Popes, and co-hosts Criteria: The Catholic Film Podcast. See full bio.
