The president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops has asked us all to sign the petition urging the State Department to recognize the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East as a form of genocide.

As the Obama administration dithers, hesitating to affirm the obvious, over 100,000 people have already signed the petition. The US House of Representatives has confirmed that the killing is genocidal, in a March 14 resolution passed by a stunning unanimous 393-0 vote. Can you think of any good reason not to sign it? Right now?

Phil Lawler, I don't know how you can reduce a loving supportive civil union between two men to a "sodomite union". How did that phrase get past editing? The difference between a civil union and a sacramental marriage is quite clear to me. Why can we not respectfully make the distinction and move on? God does not look at us as humankind does, he sees into our hearts. I know many good hearted people who have "bogus marriages" by your smug definition. Take your high hat off please.

Actually, this stupidity or vanity, does extend to other appearances such as age, etc. Can you say plastic surgery and miracle ointments? These forms of denial preceed the gender denial. The question is when will enough people with enough courage say the emperor has no clothes?
