Preventive care? Preventing what?

This isn't an original question, I realize. But in light of the Obama administration's insistence that women need "preventive care" such as contraception, it seems worth asking again:

Phil, I don't think talk like that will get you appointed to any pontifical commissions or academies anytime soon. What will keep you out? Clear understanding of Catholic faith and morals. Striving to live your life and to conduct your business according to this faith and to God's morality. Willing to act on your convictions: to speak out in the face of real rigidity, shades of gray, rampant clericalism, and "progressive" scorn. How dare you criticize authoritarianism! You do so in Christ's name

Card. Cupich wrote on Oct. 24 in his diocesan paper, "While I was in Rome..., I was asked about the angry reaction of American Catholics to the developments of the past months.
