THE PASTOR'S POT

Well, when I was growing up, back in the Golden Age of the Church (strains of "Blowin' in the Wind" can still make me get all tingly-eucharistic), the "Pastor's Pot" meant the personal corporation made all the more evident by the purple sash of his soutane (we were all Temples of the Holy Ghost, but if your monsignor wasn't a basilica you were scarcely orthodox).

Today's bright-eyed, eager new age pastors may well be found in Gold's Gym six nights a week, but that doesn't mean they have no respect for the tradition of the pastor's pot
