one year ago today

Trying to call up yesterday's CWN headlines, I accidentally reached the stories from this date last year, and guess what I found: Cardinal Sodano was at the UN, endorsing a big new campaign to eliminate world poverty.

But wait, you might say: Didn't Cardinal Sodano go to the UN to endorse a big new campaign against poverty this year-- in fact, this week?

Yes, indeed; maybe it's going to be an annual event, to be set on the non-liturgical calendar.

But while I looked through the year-old headlines, I noticed that it was about this time, last year, that Cardinal McCarrick's committee was promising a report on how bishops should deal with pro-abortion Catholic politicians.

Which should we expect to see first: the completed report from the McCarrick committee, or another headline about Cardinal Sodano encouraging the UN to abolish poverty?
