Kim LAWTON: Some groups fear the bishops' energy and commitment may fade.

I get it. The bishops have to take action, because if they don't... it will cause inconvenience for bishops!!

Archbishop Dolan makes the point (perhaps not quite intentionally) that on grounds of purest, unalloyed self-interest, the US bishops should force some reluctant colleagues to 'fess up. Which makes it all the more fascinating that (see below) they still haven't.
