not your usual bishop
By Diogenes ( articles ) | Aug 31, 2006
The newly appointed Bishop of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has an interesting background. Bishop-elect Paul Swain was raised as a Methodist and trained as a lawyer. He came into the Catholic Church while serving as counsel to the Governor of Wisconsin, then left that job to enter the seminary.
Long before that, he served in Vietnam, where he won a Bronze Star.
An interesting resume. A name to remember.

This really underlines the timeliness of the Catholic World News story at http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=8279 .

Oh, wow. The Dissidents' Choice! I think the most interesting juxtaposition is the disdain they have for Archbishop Chaput. This Kicanas must really be a "sleeper agent" for the heterodox. But, that's probably the only thing "hetero' about them!

If the bishops elect this guy after this it will REALLY show who (and perhaps what) they are. Incidentally, these rainbowers need a proofreader. Their statement is full of errors. As is the rest of their Website, which I had never seen before clicking on the link in the pdf.
