the murder of a non-person?

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Aug 10, 2010

In Wyoming, a man faces an unusual set of criminal charges:

Authorities have charged Gilford with first-degree murder and intentional homicide of an unborn child in the death of Kristine Gilford, 35, who was five months pregnant and had been sharing a Villa Park apartment with her 3-year-old daughter and a friend for about three weeks.

What's all this about "intentional homicide of an unborn child"? We're in Roe v Wade territory here. The worst charge that can stick is practicing medicine without a license.
