Fr. Mankowski's earlier post (below) raises the question again: What happened between the 1950s (when Bishop Brady and Fr. Fitzgerald had the right ideas and the right policies) and the 1980s-1990s (when bishops were routinely protecting perverts)?

Cardinal Law told us that both society and the Church were on a "learning curve" regarding pedophilia. And maybe he's right. But which way does that curve slope?
