In a pamphlet about the theological implications of extra-terrestrial life--- and I bet that's a topic you've spent a lot of time wondering about-- a Jesuit priest from the Vatican Observatory raises some interesting speculative questions. The announcement provides a quick list of the topics covered, and begins:

Would humans recognise intelligent life if we saw it?

And you know, that's a good question.
