From Britain comes a holiday season gift suggestion in quiet good taste.

A book bound in the skin of an executed Jesuit priest was to be auctioned in England. The macabre, 17th-century book tells the story of the 1605 Gunpowder Plot and is covered in the hide of Father Henry Garnet.

The buyer needn't fear protests from PETA.

    Obviously he couldn't. But Kennedy knew whose side the press would be on and so he figured he would win. We can be grateful that he encountered one of our rare masculine bishops, who can dish it out as well as take it. Not every bishop is a mealy-mouthed mamby-pamby. Tobin proves it.
