How the Learning Curve Got Bent

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Apr 09, 2003

Rev. Stephen "I'm afraid of this witch hunt for gays" Rossetti explains how the experts at the St. Luke Institute decided which priests were suitable for return to ministry (America, 9-9-1995):

As noted above, Adele Mayer outlined several factors contributing to poor-risk candidates. Priests with few of these negative indicators would probably be a better risk. For example, a priest who abused older children, had few victims, did not use overt violence and was without a severe character disorder or organic brain deficits would be a better candidate for a return to ministry. On the other hand, a priest who abused scores of pre-pubescent children, sometimes employed violence and had a serious personality disorder would be a poor risk for any future ministry.

Sin, it would seem, is not a pertinent category.
