Force of law, law of force

By Cheshire ( articles - email ) | Apr 04, 2003

Archbishop ("There is no such thing as a just war") Martino's successor as the Holy See's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Archbishop Migliore, has told that unprophetic organization that we need "the force of law and not the law of force." I do not know if Dennis Kucinich is advising the Vatican's Secretariate of State, but it would seem that Jesse Jackson has become their speechwriter.

The archbishop's discourse on the force of law was ill timed to hit the press just as the Diocese of San Bernardino announced that it is suing the Archdiocese of Boston.

Meanwhile, more and more liberated Iraqis who have had personal experience of the law of force are cheering what some Vatican officials have called their Anglo-Saxon invaders.
