Around the blogs today

By Domenico Bettinelli, Jr. ( articles - email ) | Aug 14, 2003

Here's what's new and interesting on blogs today:

  • Mark Shea doesn't belong to a "heterosexual community" and doesn't care if you know it. He also says he's not trying to "impose the closet" on gays.
  • Tom Fitzpatrick notes that despite their pleas of ignorance, certain plaintiff lawyers did know about the Archdiocese of Boston's settlements in the 90s.
  • Fr. Bryce Sibley always finds the most unusual links including a book about Pope Leo X's elephant and Jesus, the Monster Truck.
  • James Kushiner of Touchstone Magazine quotes the presiding bishop of the Episcopal church who says, among other things, that states of certitude are "often forms of bondage." He's talking about homosexuality, in case you didn't know.
  • James Lileks notices an ad campaign for a new beer called "Grand" that says getting rid of half of the Ten Commandments would be "grand."
  • Peter Vere has some concerns about Mel Gibson's "The Passion" and his portrayal of some ethnic stereotypes: Romans and their Italian descendants.
