The governor resigned, and headline stories cited "an extramarital affair with a man." This is confusing, because:
1) It wasn't the affair itself that drove the governor out of office; it was the threat of blackmail and/or sexual-harassment charges.
2) The governor is male. He had an affair with a man. Thanks, folks, but we know it was "extramarital."
