MIND DUST
A postulate of materialism that the human mind results from a combination of particles of mind that have always existed in association with material atoms. A rival theory, e.g., Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955), is emergent evolution, which claims that the mind is a natural product in the process of biological evolution.
