JOT
A trivial item or matter, a meaning derived from the fact that it was originally the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet. Matthew quoted the word when Jesus emphasized the fact that "not one jot, not one little stroke, shall disappear from the Law until its purpose is achieved" (Matthew 5:18).
