Vietnam: Catholic lawyer arrested

Le Quoc Quan, an attorney who served on Diocese of Vinh’s justice and peace commission, was arrested on April 7 for protesting the conviction of fellow human rights advocate Cu Huy Ha Vu.
Quan, who has previously been arrested, was a fellow at National Endowment for Democracy in 2006 and 2007.
7% of the Communist nation’s 86.2 million people are Catholic, according to Vatican statistics.
