Vatican newspaper highlights Yemeni water crisis

The Vatican newspaper devoted a front-page article in its October 21 edition to the water crisis in Yemen amid its civil war.

In “Yemen: la sete dei bambini di Taiz“ (Yemen: The thirst of the children of Taiz), staff journalist Francesco Citterich cited a report from UNICEF, the United Nations agency for children. Citterich concluded:

Ensuring access to water means defending the lives, dignity, and future of an entire generation. And it means ensuring that, in Yemen, even the most basic right—the right to drink safe water—is not drowned out by the din of weapons.
